Eco-Anxiety - what can we do about it?
Listen now
Description
This year’s summer was one of the hottest on record. As the world battles with the impacts of climate change, it is taking a toll on the mental health of people around the world. ‘Eco-anxiety’ is a term coined to reflect a heightened state of anxiety and worry related specifically to environmental harm caused by human activity and climate change. Young people, whose futures stand to be the most affected by climate change are one of the most vulnerable to experiencing eco-anxiety. What can we do about it? This is the first of two episodes co-hosted by students in Hong Kong from EcoSol, an environmental advocacy group that strives to create sustainable change with Hong Kong students. Ethan and Justin from EcoSol have an insightful discussion with special guest Dr Ans Vercammen, an Imperial College London academic researcher on the intersection between climate and mental-health. This is a raw, engaging episode that will leave you with valuable tips on taking care of your mental health during the on-going climate crisis.  --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sustainapod/message
