best musicology podcast on the internet
This podcast hits it out of the park episode after episode. Hosts Nate Sloan and Charlie Harding unfailingly apply incisive wit and a deep understanding of theory, culture and history in breaking down popular music. Always surprising, substantive, and insightful.

I found out about this podcast when Linda Holmes shared it as her “What’s Making Me Happy” on PCHH and it was love at first listen. All of the episodes are great but “Let’s Talk About Sax” is probably my favorite.

This podcast is really interesting. It amazes me the things that they hear in pop songs that I don't. I always laugh when they say that a musical note in a song means something specific. Like when they say something like, "This d-flat minor means that he's sorry, and wants her back."Read full review »

I listen to a lot of radio and pop music without thinking about what goes into it. This podcast is super informative without being dull and it makes the time go by fast when I listen at work. Love!!! :)
