Long live pop
Big fan of the breadth and depth that the pod goes into - it’s been wonderful for discovering new genres, as well as diving deeper into sentimental favorites

Good: Breaks down technical aspects of songs, for those who like that kind of thing. Bad: Proves that any good thing can be ruined by overanalyzing it. (Also, the hosts are goobers who laugh way too hard at their own “jokes.”)

I love how Charles and Nate love music and songwriting. They’re not all about having the best taste or knowing the most obscure bands, it’s just about how awesome each bit of chord, lyric, or beat is awesome in it’s own right, and that appreciation is a joy to listen to. More episodes please!

This podcast is really interesting. It amazes me the things that they hear in pop songs that I don't. I always laugh when they say that a musical note in a song means something specific. Like when they say something like, "This d-flat minor means that he's sorry, and wants her back."Read full review »
