“The first season was great, but the second season devolved into a series of lectures on the inadequacy of our justice system. One of the reasons for minimum sentences is that judges tend to put some people back out on the street too soon, and they reoffend over and over. I’m thinking specifically of the guy who kept getting short sentences for stealing rare books. At some point you need to throw out the key, which is the reason 3 strikes is so popular. He may not have physically hurt anyone, but he did cause major damage to the lives of those book dealers. Non-violent crimes are still crimes and need to be stopped. Also, you have the best theme song of any podcast and stopped using it during the second season! Why?”
