Description
Prior to the day of our independence, Adam calls up his friend, the artist from Detroit and soon to move to New York Madeline Kuzak. Maddie works in painting and illustration, as well as performance and more conceptual driven work. When Adam introduced his theory of Crytographic Transgressive art in in Amphetamine Sulphate's 'Human Rights' anthology, Maddie was one of the artists he used to bolster his concept. Maddie's work is cloaked in the tropes of femininity, and feminist curators are often all too enthusiastic to drag her work into their theories. But there is actually a very interesting subversion going on here, where the theme of female victimhood is constantly being deconstructed and challenged.   FULL EPISODE HERE   Sountrack: Artificial Peace "Artificial Peace" Archgoat "Angel C**t" ZZ Top "Move me Down the Line" Hidious in Strength "Torture #2" Townes Van Zandt "Snake Mountain Blues"   LINKS: Maddie at Instagram: @crawl_space Read Adam's "A Primer on Crypto-Transgression" by purchasing 'Human Rights' Maddie at Darkzone Adam on Crypto-Transgression in 'Euphoria'
