Thoughtful and thorough game discussions
New listener here! I listened to two episodes: Chained Echoes and The Forbidden City. Great format and set up with a host and a guest discussing the game, the host does a good job in pushing the conversation along and redirecting if necessary. It could be the two episodes I picked, but I like when podcasts review media they actually enjoy, rather than spending 2+ hour bashing something. While there were criticisms of the games, those were thoughtful and made sense, rather than just complaining. The brief music breaks were good palate cleansers to move on to new topics without disrupting the flow of the show. I found myself nodding along to the commentary and agreeing with most of their assessments of the games – I’ll have to listen to one with a game I don’t necessarily like to see if I still agree 😊 As an aside, thank you for so thoroughly covering the Forgotten City and its endings! I started that game, played for awhile and LOVED it, but got too scared when I realized what was going on with the statues and had to quit. Great podcast! I’m subscribed and will definitely be checking out the backlog.

TFTBL is in my weekly rotation of shows and it should be on yours too! Dave is super insightful and offers a unique perspective into games. Agree or disagree with his takes, regardless it’s always fair and supported. Must listen!

A stand out example of what makes a video game based podcast worth listening too, a man that really appreciates the medium. As a person with my own out of control backlog I can respect the hustle.

There’s no fear on whether or not you’re going to be spoiled on a game that is covered on this show. A deep dive into each game where no stone is unturned with a handy spoiler section mentioned and time stamped for you. This is a great way to learn if a game is for you or not. Highly recommend.
