The Art & Future of Filmmaking with Eli Roth & Mark Borchardt
Listen now
Description
Eli Roth returns and this time he’s brought fellow filmmaker, Mark Borchardt. Mark is the creator and director behind the horror short, “Coven,” and the subject of the 1999 film, “American Movie,” which documented the 3 years Mark spent writing, shooting, and editing “Coven.” Mark and Eli talk personal movies versus studio films, the creative process, the benefit of film school, what it was like to shoot on actual film and have to wait for it to be developed, and how they feel about the future of movies and the theater experience in the age of COVID. The threesome also talk about some of their favorite movies and directors (like Werner Herzog), and Mark speaks to the “Coven” sequel and when that may be available. It’s a great discussion about the art of film!
