She is a Google for Education Certified Innovator, National Board Certified Teacher, Edutopia Facilitator, Bay Area Writing Project Teacher Consultant with an MA in Ed. Tech. In 2015, she was a first place winner of the Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation Teacher Innovator Award. Laura has been teaching since 1988: before state standards, before standardized tests, before scripted, one-size-fits-all curriculum and before threats of Program Improvement and merit pay.
