The episode where Tara realizes that she will never ever have the kind of pregnancy that she imagined, even if she was lucky enough to stay pregnant, and realized she wanted to be a parent more than being pregnant tipped the scales for me.
It helped me realize that I also had an idea in my head of what this looked like. And it was time to move onto being a parent. After 7 rounds of IVF and 4 miscarriages, plus other assorted surgeries, I’m moving onto surrogacy. And I’ve accepted the fact that I’ll have to use donor eggs if my one remaining own-egg embryo fails to implant in our surrogate.
Never would have seen this coming. I have to keep my babies safe. And my body is not a safe place no matter what I do.
So thank you both for helping me accept it by sharing your story.”
