After taking a few weeks off from the podcast after my Mom's unexpected passing I was joined by Justin Goldman of The Goalie Guild and Lift the Mask project. I wanted Justin to be a part of this episode because he too unexpectedly lost his mom a little over a year ago, but also his work advocating for mental health and his efforts to normalize talking about trauma. We both approached the discussion not being afraid to be vulnerable, and because of that at times the talk gets raw. It was also therapeutic, and if us sharing our experience can help just one other person dealing with loss it was worth it. Selfishly though, this was an episode I needed to do for myself.
