Tennis With An Accent: Writer Ed Salmon
Listen now
Description
This week on Tennis With An Accent, Saqib Ali is joined by writer Ed Salmon, who talks about the significance of the WTA year end finale in the tennis calendar and the contenders for the remaining spots for Singapore. Elina Svitolina is another topic in this discussion as the Russian has had an anticlimactic last few months of the season where she lost lot of weight physically and confidence in her game. The guys discuss the potential of the mouth watering matchups in Singapore. Ed weighs in on the Halep/Kerber matchup, as the two are pretty balanced in their match up history. Kvitova/Osaka is another matchup that gets a call out. Ed takes a deeper dive explaining the recent form of both women coming into the finale. Also, anyone of the trio of Kerber, Wozniacki, or Halep can rightfully be the player of the year if she wins WTA finals in Singapore, where the slow court conditions may help Wozniacki as she has been historically more comfortable in he indoor conditions in Singapore. All of this plus they answer the question if Pliskova this year’s surprise package at the event on today’s Tennis With An Accent. Thanks for listening!
