Good show but the divorce episodes missed the mark
I’d like to start off by saying that I listen to this show often and with earnest. I’ve had a terrible past few years personally and professionally, and after discovering this podcast it became a true comfort for me that things are “not all right”. I am currently going through a divorce. It’s a mixture of grief, anger, our worst selves, a feeling of personal failure, and pain. So it was really disheartening to listen to the divorce mail bag, hoping to be comforted and empathized with, only to discover that it was 2 hours of Nora and two married people rambling about things that they haven’t experienced and know nothing about. The raucous laughter and judgment of people’s stories and letters was so off-color, I listened enough to realize that this was only making me feel alone and judged. Horrible.

Life isn't always flowers and rainbows and puppies and perfect scenes for an Instagram post. Sometimes it's hard and ugly. Loved the first couple episodes and looking forward to other terrible stories to help remind me it's okay to talk about the hard things in life.Read full review »
