“I follow about a dozen news brief podcasts from around the world in an effort to get a variety of perspectives. This is one of those I’ve listened to daily for years.
Lately, though, since the previous backup announcer seems to have been made permanent, I’ve given it up. It’s just too painful to listen to her. I’m not trying to be unkind—I’m sure she brings plenty of skills and talents to the organization—but reading the news is absolutely not one of them. Lack of inflection, mispronunciations, etc. Not everyone is good at public speaking or even reading aloud. Please, please bring back the previous host, or at least get somebody who is actually suited to the job. Until then, you’ve sadly lost a listener.”
