For lovers of music and musicians
I listen to a lot of podcasts and this one is in my top 5. I’ve been a fan of Otis Gibbs for several years but I’m not letting that influence this review. He has a relaxed, conversational style of interviewing these music legends that he has met over his years on the road. Because he is a road warrior himself these people really open up to him and you get tremendous insight into what it is like to be a working musician. American Idol fans need not apply. Some of the conversations are a little “inside baseball” to non-musicians but that just adds to the magic of this podcast IMHO. On a personal note, I would like to thank Otis for episode 7 with Ian Hunter. Ian answered a question that has been bugging me for years. On Ian’s live album, “Welcome to the Club” he introduces the song “Just Another Night” by stating that it is a song about a night in the Indianapolis city jail. I met Ian backstage at The Vogue in Indy in 1986 and asked him about that comment. All he would say was, “That will have to wait for another time mate.” Thanks Otis. Come back home a play for us as soon as you can.
