Bpd
Hi Christina. I love your podcast. I’m a mom of 3 under 5 and it’s so nice to remember I’m not alone sometimes. I’m also a mom living with bpd. First off, I’m so sorry that you had to deal with your moms narcissistic/toxic behavior while you were growing up. Every time I hear about it I cringe and have to remind myself I have none of those traits and I’m a good mom. Bpd is so stigmatized and misunderstood and a lot of us don’t possess any of the narcissistic/selfish/toxic traits that everyone thinks we have(don’t get me wrong plenty for). Living with this disease can be an absolute nightmare. 80% of people with bpd attempt suicide, and it only makes it worse the more stigmatized this disorder gets. I know there is an entire community of us who are dedicated to attending behavior therapy(CBT and DBT) and bpd support groups every week to focus on bettering ourselves and the lives of the people we love. So many people I’ve met with bpd, as well as myself, are the most kind, compassionate and honestly funniest people I’ve ever met. If you ever decided to do an episode/segment on the stigma and misinformation behind bpd or what it’s like to be a mom w bpd, It would definitely help the bpd community. Thanks Christina. You’re amazing!
