Good deep dives but Dan digresses too much

“I really wanted to give this podcast 5 stars. I love the deep dives into specific topics with guests, particularly on harder to understand topics in tech, cloud, advertising, bio, space, etc. as well as high level discussions on portfolio management and investing style. And the regular daily podcasts led by Dan generally cover interesting topics of the day which are useful for someone like me who is not following stock market news closely beyond the Twitter headlines.
But Dan goes off on personal tangents too often. I know he’s trying to bring levity and down-to-earth relatable experiences, but it’s become too frequent and long such that it detracts from the value of the podcast. I know way too much about his condo in Florida, his planned trips to Vegas, his experience selling 20 houses, etc. This is something even my mother has independently brought up to me after I introduced the podcast to her.
So Dan, I know this can come off as personal criticism but please try to stick more to the topics and avoid bringing up your personal experience, something that none of the other 7investing advisors do on the podcast. Otherwise, I really feel like I have to start skipping episodes that you’re a primary speaker in.
You’re a smooth podcast host in transitioning between topics and guests and I know you spend a lot of time hosting these podcasts, so if you can iron out the issues I mention, I think you can become an all-star podcast host.”
