Making space for ambiguity
As a practical theologian, that is someone interested in the lived experience of religion, and a spiritual care giver, I am in awe of the care and compassion that is offered in the telling and listening of these stories, which so often express the complexity and ambiguity of reproductive decision-making. These are narratives you won’t likely hear elsewhere, and they are important stories for us to bear witness to. They deepen our understanding of the emotional, spiritual, relational, and physical realities of unplanned pregnancy, abortion, and, quite frankly, what it means to be human.
