Simply the best visual astronomy podcast
For visual astronomy, these two are the best, bar none. It’s very much a fly on the wall experience listening in to a couple of very active and experienced observers. While the show does have structure, for me the nuggets of gold are often the tangents when two friends seem to forget the they’re recording and just casually discuss their impressions and personal opinions on eyepieces, scopes, mounts, books and other gear. It was for this reason that I went back and listened to every episode - to tease out all the little gems! Chris and Shane are very responsive with email communications as well, and between the podcast and email responses, I’ve gotten more value than I have from my local astronomy club. We live in a science fiction age and this hobby is humbling. Glass and mirrors polished to impossible and minute tolerances, instruments calibrated to impossibly perfected alignments, light from impossibly large objects impossible distances away in space and time. These two humble Canadians will infect you with the astronomy bug. Highly recommend. Aussie Ant

The most boring astronomical podcast I've tried to listen to, narrated by Kermit the frog and his friend. If you give this five stars, you obviously haven't listened to Richard Pogue or other fine broadcasters.Read full review »
