The experience of your interviewees is universal in that so many of us have de-programming that simply must be tackled in this lifetime to realize our ultimate loving purpose. It’s one thing to deconstruct your faith and point to legitimate abuses and wrongs in the church as reasons why, but it’s quite another to then commiserate and complain that the faith you’ve left hasn’t remade itself in your own image.
