Evangelical about this podcast!!
I listen to MANY podcasts (I’m a community social worker, so I’m on the road for several hours a day, and podcasts keep me sane as I fight against capitalism and stigma on behalf of my clients) and this is the one I universally recommend. I have found something to find joy in, learn, and/or be shocked by with every episode. I tell everyone I talk to about specific episodes, and I go back to re-listen to this podcast the most. I wish Helen (and by extension, her partner Martin, who seems delightful!) was my IRL friend, as she’s so smart, funny, kind, and brilliant. Also!! This is the only podcast I don’t skip through the ads and credits for, because that’s how funny and interesting Helen is: even talking about her sponsors is FUN!! Listen in. You will be happy you did. I guarantee* it!! (Guarantee not covered by any institution or agency.)

Etymology is fascinating by itself; To add to that, Helen has that perfect, jolly British sarcasm you just have to love and laugh with! Only wish the podcasts were longer!

I like this podcast enough to rate and review it on iTunes, even though I don't use iTunes. That's how much I like it.Read full review »
