“I loved that you recognized the 2019 KS Supreme Court decision as being the impetus for the KS Value Them Both amendment as well as not seeing it as the huge win for Dems they want it to be.
I don’t know if you mean to tie your next point about miscarriage vs abortion to that election, but it was actually a big part of it. There is a concerted effort the define abortion as essential healthcare, and one way they are doing it is to insist that because the technical, medical definition of miscarriage is spontaneous abortion then the VBT amendment would have outlawed treatment for miscarriage (D&C) as well as for ectopic pregnancy. This was a huge part of their push. Any attempt to explain that it was, like the Roe/Dobbs decision an attempt to put the decisions into the hands of the voters was met with shrieks accusing you of being a religious zealot and claiming, based on a hypothetical that passing the amendment was effectively a ban whereas a No vote would keep the status quo. We will probably have to wait until the next case brought to the KS Supreme Court challenging existing limitations to see if they realize that we weren’t lying.”
