“Clearly intellectually brilliant, and the topics and guests chosen are excellently curated. However I often find myself not making it through as I find the interview style grating. There’s often an over focus on background of each guest, and when she doesn’t get to an answer she keeps pushing and so much so that the whole conversation gets really laboured. I enjoy some of the interjections she makes but too often they go on for ages and don’t do anything to get under the skin of what the guest thinks, rather just explain what she thinks. There’s also a baffling lack of rigour to the conversations - I can only assume that Ayaan and her guests are incredibly well read but the conversations are so loose and anecdotal. Overall worth a go but you’ve got to patient as you listen to Ayaan stutter her way through a five minute monologue about something..”
