In 24 years as the basketball coach at Sunnyside Christian, Wagenaar career record is 508-118. In his 24 seasons under Wagenaar, the Knights have 20 State Tournament Appearances, 18 league championships, and 16 district tournament titles. The Knights also have 8 regional championships and 15 state placings that include: · 7th in 2006 & 2009 · 5th in 2001 · 4th in 2003 & 2012 · 3rd in 2016 · State titles in 2002, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2017, 2018, 2019 The Knights have a postseason record of 120-29, a Spokane Arena Record of 34-12, and a Yakima Sun Dome record of 14-2. Coach Wagenaar was born and raised on an old-school family farm in NW Iowa, graduated from Unity Christian High School in Orange City, Iowa, and then Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa.
