A nice nice day to day day and day day

Julie is an absolute professional and a compassionate human being. These women are so courageous and being a woman who came of age in the 70’s I know about this. Different place and situation but same lack of protection. Doug Walker stole their innocence and gaslit them so they felt to blame and...Read full review »

Incredible investigative reporting. Thank you Julie Ireton!

Are what the podcast medium exists to tell. And with every single person who listens, consciousness is expanded of the experiences of these victims at the hands of these monsters and of their courageous efforts, as CHILDREN, to bring them to the attention of the “adults” in charge, only to be...Read full review »

What an incredibly powerful podcast! So many podcasts these days are exploitative and non-victim centered, but I think the subject material was handled masterfully. Would absolutely recommend! As a survivor, made me feel seen and really inspired by all these incredible women fighting for change...Read full review »

Ads cut in right in the middle of interviews and when they stop the interview does not continue; parts of the podcast seem to be missing. Whoever did the ad placement screwed up and it is next to impossible to listen to this.

This series was so sad to hear. I could tell the story really blew up and a sisterhood was formed as a result of this reporting. Episode 8 that featured punch daddy bright me to tears. He is so sweet. Start listening now. Glad to hear all these women have somebody to turn to now

I was a victim of teacher sexual abuse at 15 - i reported him (he was sentenced to 5 years, served 20 months) only to also then find out there were other before me. I’ve repressed a lot since then, and this podcast has helped to remind me how strong I was to come forward and to start to...Read full review »

Tough subject matter no doubt but expertly crafted. High praise in its thoughtfulness and presentation. Well done by all.

I listen to a lot of podcasts, especially true “crime”. This is close to the best, if not THE best I’ve listened to. Well-researched, thorough, and detailed. And, it prompted action , help, and change. Well done!

Because this was such a great/well done podcast but I had such a hard time getting past Julie’s accent. The way she says OttaWAH, Tronno instead of Toronto, Muntreal instead of Montreal, rezourses instead of resources was so distracting. However, the content and investigative journalism was...Read full review »

This extremely well presented podcast is a therapeutic listen for anyone who has experienced the brutal isolation of childhood sexual abuse. Regardless of justice this unification of victims is wonderful. Thank you all for gently & gracefully sharing your stories of your trauma & your...Read full review »

Well made doco series, has really good contributors to corroborate the story. It’s an infuriating story that the girls didn’t get justice back then.

Regarding Season 2 (I have not currently listened to Season 1), I am so incredibly moved by this reporting of such powerful sisterhood. But I’m incredibly angered by the horrific series of events that lead these amazing women to each other. With that said, they must know that because of their...Read full review »

I throughly appreciated this podcast, the investigation, and narration shared. It’s truly bittersweet to see that the women are still facing sexism to this day due to laws made in the past, but the sisterhood formed from the victims was truly heart warming.

I have dealt with sexual trauma the first 25 years of my life. Therapies, medications, hospitalizations and less positive coping mechanisms have been employed throughout. I have never felt an emotion where someone truly gets me. When I heard the ladies sharing their experiences I was blown away...Read full review »

Great podcast! It’s compassionate, well researched, well told and tells the story while trying to minimise harm to all. I work in historical child sexual abuse claims, often against teachers, and this was pretty spot on. Wishing the strong wonderful women all the best as they move forward with...Read full review »

In the podcast "The Banned Teacher," victims courageously share their experiences with a teacher who they claim violated their bodily integrity. It is commendable that they are speaking out and sharing their stories, and it is important to respect their bravery. Unfortunately, it must be...Read full review »

Such a well-done podcast. And such a frustrating process to listen to. Just listening to how Anne-Marie had to go back twice to the police, listening to the police questions where the interviewer has to correct his use of “relationship” with “dealings”, and it gets worse from there. In these...Read full review »

This podcast is so well reported and produced, and so disturbing. I was involved in a community theatre production in the late 1990s, of which Doug Walker was the musical director. I was in the high school band with Jeanie and knew her well. Most of us (young women) were aware of what a danger he was and of others he targeted. But in those days teenage girls had no agency. In the 1980’s I went to Winona school where Mr. Barnes the music teacher was raping boys, then I went to Oakwood Collegiate where Mr. Wishart was raping kids (he was charged and went to jail) Both were highly respected music directors and very trusted by parents. This is one of the best podcasts I’ve heard, and I’ve listened to many over the years. This is now a few years old. I have now listened to many, many podcasts, and this one still stands out. The telling of the story, and the interviews are done with honesty, empathy and compassion.
