Whether we like it or not, our society is hyper-fixated on how women look, act, and exist in this world. If you’re single, you’re looked down upon. If you’re married, a lot of your success is attributed to your husband. If you aren’t pretty, you get over-looked. But we all know looks can fade and not even marriage is without risk of ending. It’s kind of like we’re damned if we do, and we’re damned if we don’t. It’s not that we resent the urge to feel pretty—of course we want to look and feel good—but don’t you sometimes wonder how much farther along in life you could be if your looks weren’t the most important thing about you (at least in society’s eyes)?
