“Robert M. Price is one of those absolute originals, and a fringe dweller of biblical scholarship, a position that I think he occupies somewhat proudly. Definitely not a crank, but to his credit there is not a rabbit hole of biblical inquiry that Price won't burrow down into, sometimes earning him the scorn of his colleagues. On the other hand, his views are also enthusiastically championed by less well-informed atheists. Neither camp gives much consideration to the nuance of his approach.
The Bible Geek Podcast follows a simple approach of Price responding to letters from questioners. His presentation is eccentric. He will unashamedly adopt the most atrocious accents as he reads his questions, and this all adds to the fun. Sometimes his answers will tail off into extraordinary monologues on the topic at hand, as he unloads his encyclopedic knowledge of the Bible.
You won't always agree with Price. I certainly don't. Evangelical Christians in particular who may come to this podcast still locked in their cage of Biblical inerrancy and divine inspiration will find TBGP particularly egregious. However you will never leave an episode of TBGP more ignorant than you started. There is always something new to learn from it. Highly recommended.”
