“Just listened to an episode of this podcast on The Wing, what a joke! Even without any googling, most people know The Wing founder dated the alleged rapist/sexual assaulter Terry Richardson and it wasn’t mentioned, not once. Similarly, the Theranos episode barely even got into anything of substance. There seems to be a reason for why this podcast is barely informative: it’s the host. He apparently feels that he needs to spend the majority of the run time in this brief podcast attempting to be clever and cutesy (and desperately failing), so there is little time left for any sort of information to be conveyed in any episode. I really can’t tell if this is his MO or what Wondery told him to do, but given Wondery other podcasts, I have to assume it is the former. I listen to plenty of similar podcasts where the hosts are “cracking wise“ but the huge differences they are actually funny, here without any actual comedy and with barely any actual facts, the listener is stuck with the host, just talking to hear the sound of his own voice and the guest hosts trying to get a word in edgewise. By the end of the podcast, you don’t know anything more than when you started listening. Unless of course, you have seen a 30 second news report on the topic, in which case you will know 29 more seconds of information than what you learn in this idiotic exercise. Pass.”
