The be
Bite the bishops banjo, you backyard Brenda’s. Welcome to my review of The Blindboy Podcast. It’s currently February here in Perth on the west coast of Australia which is a huge contrast from where I’m from on the west coast of Ireland, where I’m from, actually only 20 mins away from where Blindboy is from. That was a lot of from’s! It’s kinda lost all meaning now. Anyway, here in Australia it’s right this minute 43 degrees Celsius and the outside world feels like a sauna. The outside world feels like a sauna! So I’m currently studying and have to walk about 30 minutes each way in the heat with a few buses and trains thrown in too and it’s a nightmare. All together it’s about 2 hours of travel a day. The only good part is I get the joy of listening to Blindboy on my travels. I had never listened to another podcast before listening to this one, I only started listening to them because I had so much time while travelling and a friends suggested podcasts. I started my search to find a podcast that suited me and really struggled and gave up. Then I randomly was showing a friend some old rubber bandits prank calls, which I had listened to as a teenager on a cassette that all my friends passed around to each other, and came across the podcast. This was it, the podcast I had been searching for. I listened right from the start, he does mention you should so you can familiarise yourself with the lore of the podcast. I would totally recommend it, not only do you understand references and the mind of Blindboy, there is also continuation of previous discussions. Listening to the podcast is great, it would remind you of conversations you would have with a close friend that you can act a bit silly with, that might be the neurodivergence in me that feels that, but nonetheless his descriptive language will make you feel like you can visualise everything he is saying to you. With that descriptive language I have been whisked away from the blistering Australian summer and brought to a familiar Irish February. If you haven’t already listened to the podcast, please I implore you to do so. You won’t regret it. Thank you Blindboy for the podcast. P.s you once said you didn’t want to do podcasts in Limerick because who would want to go, well if I can make a suggestion, around Christmas time people from around the world come back to Ireland to see family and I’m sure there would be a lot of people like that who would love to see you in Limerick.
