Listen now
Description
This episode Ryan checks in with our friends Lindsay Kukona Pakele and Brandon Maka‘awa‘awa, two young kanaka maoli (Native Hawaiian) community leaders and representatives of the Nation of Hawaii -- Hawaii's oldest independent Hawaiian sovereignty organization. Lindsay and Brandon talk about how their communities are responding to the COVID crisis, how haole fragility is making Hawaii's response to COVID-19 less effective, the bright spots they've seen in their communities' responses to this crisis, and mention some great resources for anyone (especially Native Hawaiians) impacted by the COVID crisis.
