Interesting but, Strasser Disappoints
-I really liked all the info on the incredibly interesting Leo Szilard and great production value as you’d expect from the BBC. -I’m wondering who Strasser thought was going to be her audience for this, though? The insight into little known, but monumental moments in the creation of the atomic bomb is fantastic and what somebody like me is interested in. -However, the podcast isn’t really about that at all. It’s about her “guilt” that her grandfather was involved in the production of ‘the bomb.’ I mean, come on, it’s not like she’s Oppenheimer’s granddaughter. I’d at least be able to sympathize with her view. -The morality question about the use of the bombs is an important one, but Strasser doesn’t address the argument adequately and completely fails to provide any opposing arguments other than it was amoral. -Strasser’s purported plight and seeming naiveté make her unlikable, thus, the bad reviews. It’s unfortunate, however, because there is good content here, even though I agree with a lot of them.

Another great podcast from the BBC. I am going to try to work this one into my daughters’ home-school curriculum.
