Audiobook episode
I found the audiobook episode really disappointing. Why bother doing an episode on them if you don’t even listen to them? This was an episode I was especially interested in, as I imagine many people who listen to podcasts also consume books on audio. The episode was essentially you both saying that you never listen to them...and not making a case to even try for those who haven’t. It’s especially irritating that you can both listen to podcasts for hours but not audiobooks. Seriously?! Guys. Why do this episode??? You’re basically bashing audiobooks throughout. I love reading and books. Love them. But my life circumstances make it difficult to carve out real reading time. Audiobooks have allowed me to experience so many more authors and stories than I would have time to turn the pages of. I enjoy your podcast but this episode upset me.

More reviews of The Bookstore
The hosts discuss really interesting books. Not necessarily the “hot” books you find other podcasters talking about. And I like this. They hosts do laugh at their own jokes which can be charming but also annoying. I think they are both intelligent so I keep tuning in.

You all have good content but need to work on improving the intonation

I’m referring to the “news and book news” episode where the hosts address their audience as white people. I’m a non-white person and felt excluded and unseen. I have not listened since.
