Hov’s Flow Matches Podcast’s Sequencing
There is often a pleasant conundrum to observe in hip hop journalism where writers adopt the style of the artist they are covering. The sequencing on ‘Brooklyn’s Finest: The Making of Reasonable Doubt’ Episode 1 actually mirrors the feeling you get when listening to raps by Hov. The way it’s cut up reminds me of his delivery. Whether a conscious or subconscious choice it make’s this episode (and I bet future episodes) evoke a listening experience that grabs you like the line, “9 to 5 is how to survive, I ain’t tryna survive, I’m tryna live it to the limit and love it a lot.”
