“I listened to the Reese Witherspoon episode. For a show named the Bright Side, who’s first episode was titled, writing your own story, I had expectations, whether appropriate or not, that this show would have some substance to it, as in soulful, maybe even spiritual. At the very least the show with this title suggests internal and personal reference points for happiness.
However, the hosts spent the first part of the show discussing the social pressures and resulting complexity / grandiosity of modern birthdays for children, their personal preferences for using filters on photos in social media posts, and teeth whitening.
Certain types of young women would probably respond to this, and perhaps I’m way outside of the demographic, but the title was “writing your own story”, not maintaining one’s social image. But apparently, this is the type of program that looks to movie stars for life advice. It must sell, but it’s doubtful that it really helps.”
