“This is one of the better horror/sci fi fiction podcasts out there. I’d say it is as good as the Black Tapes Podcast.
It features a quantum scientist who goes ill and whose kids (about college age) investigate what’s going on. They become friends with a palm-reading petty criminal.
I enjoyed the story and the way they were able to communicate drama and emotion without tons of strong profanity.
The couple areas that seemed weird to me were characterization and dialogue. Some characters seem to develop new personality traits out of nowhere or do unusual things without strong motivation (like Etsy’s delinquency, which seems more like flavor than an essential character trait motivated by anything useful to her). As for the dialogue, a lot of the podcast sounds like the people talking aren’t in the same room. One person speaks a complete sentence, then pauses a few seconds, then the other person responds. There’s no real back and forth or speech overlap. The last two episodes of season 2 don’t have this issue, so I don’t expect it to be there in season 3.”
