We had a great conversation with actress Sh'Kia Augustin on The Chris & Sandy Show. We talked about family, acting, sacrifices, her career, she told some really great stories to a whole lot more! Sh'Kia Augustin is an American actress, writer, producer, and singer born to an African American mother and Jamaican father. She was born and raised in small-town Oakland, Florida, where she began singing in the church choir from a young age. Augustin started playing the flute in middle school and attended Florida Atlantic University on a music/band scholarship. She went on to graduate with a BBA in finance and music business. Her writing journey began at FAU during her tenure as the President of the Black Student Union. She co-wrote and directed a stage play titled "The Makings of a Man: Penis Monologues," which was performed for the entire student body. Since then, her pilot scripts have been placed in various screenplay competitions, including as a Quarterfinalist in Screencraft and a Finalist in WeScreenplay. After graduating, she began performing in community theaters and local film productions and writing, producing, and starring in her own web series and short films. She is best known for her recurring acting role as the voice of Shonda on The CW's “Black Lightning” and as Malika ‘Kold’ Wise, the star of AMC & We TV’s @WeTV English “Kold x Windy.”
