“I have to tell you I am more than Pi~~~ed off about the Clark stinks episode of 2/9/24. The writer wrote that Clark is too critical of Americans. They went on rambling about how Clark stated that some other cultures are better savers and less irresponsible than some Americans. Well maybe the truth hurts in this case…Clark is 100 percent right…most Americans don’t know how to save and spend in a responsible way. I am glad my wife and I grew up with Depression Era parents. They taught us the value of the dollar, the value of compound interest and just being wise about finances. We worked at public service careers (Nurse and Police Officer) with good but not great salaries. We learned that when you make $10, you save $3, spend $6 and gift $1.
We have lived by this philosophy and now in our 60’s are living debt free with a comfortable seven figure net worth.
As far as Clark being un-American, that is a total false statement. Clark grew up with immigrant parents, worked hard to complete his education, built several prosperous businesses, served his county in the military for decades, is a generous donor to many charities and a truly great American citizen. We as Americans can only strive to be half the Patriot that Clark is.
Crista was not wrong with this totally false rant relative to Clark being un American. Loyalty is scarce these days and what a great employee and representative of the Clark Howard show she is. Keep up the great work both of You….A faithful and loyal listener who will be a listener and student forever…
