“I started listening to Clark Howard on Atlanta local radio around 1989 and have been a daily listener since finding the podcast a couple of years ago. The “clark stinks” poster was way off base. Clark observes and comments on Americans’ saving habits, but I have never heard him say that we are incapable of learning and improving. If Clark Howard truly believed Americans are inherently too immature and impulsive to improve, he would not have bothered spending all these years trying to help right the ship.
Clark, here is one more example of the extensive reach of your podcast: our son is about to graduate from the United States Naval Academy in May. Unlike most college students, Naval Academy midshipmen spend most of their summers attached to operational navy units, all over the United States and the world. My 22-year-old has had an opportunity to share your travel tips with fellow midshipman as they navigated rental cars in France, internet cell issues in Norway, haggling with taxi drivers in Italy, and flight cancellations/rebooking in the US. And, of course, he proudly drives the 2010 Subaru we “bought for him” when he was 8 yrs old. He has a great start on his Roth and a superb credit score as he heads for flight school in Pensacola this summer. Thank you for helping raise a financially fit young adult!”
