During this episode Bob reflects on how he decided to put his head down and focus on taking his side hustle to a full-time gig. Bob had been working at a marketing agency but he did not necessary like the bureaucracy involved with the corporate world. He knew he had a skill set that he could leverage and decided to work on his private gig in the evenings and weekends, with the goal of being able to turn this into a full-time gig. He knew that it would take a lot of time, effort and sacrifices. Bob had to say no to all social events for an entire year as he executed on his plan – first helping his friends with marketing before expanding his services in Malaysia and eventual globally. According to Bob, he started with his friends because it gave him an opportunity to test his frameworks, get results and build the confidence before charging others for his service. Bob also shares how Fear of missing out was real, but the pain wasn’t as big as the pain of having to work at his former employer. In addition, Bob shares the foundational principle that drives the success of his business and that of his clients.
