Description
My childhood friend Rachel Sat Siri Dougherty joins me in this inspiring conversation about living life with Grace. We talk about how the magical tools of yoga have led Sat Siri to truly step into a place a grace. Through her ability to beautifully hold space, she has transformed her life into a practice that supports others on their healing journey. In this episode we talk about: ·  Her breakup/divorce and parenting her daughter solo during Covid. ·  Conscious parenting and re-parenting the Self. How doing our own work teaches our children to live in wholeness. ·  Allowing yourself to feel. How the tools of yoga are not designed to bury feelings, but to do the opposite, to feel our feelings so we can work through them to show up and deal with grief, crisis, loss and other pain life throws at us. ·  Learning to hold space for her students. As a yoga teacher - The path of service taught Sat Siri how to show up for herself, her daughter and her students and truly developed into a path of devotion allowing others to come home to themselves. ·  Learning to sit with our sadness, anger and fear. ·  Spiritual bypassing – living in light and love isn’t living our truth. Using our naval gets us in touch with our truth so we can stand in our power. ABOUT RACHEL SAT SIRI: Rachel is a former ballerina with the Australian Ballet and has been teaching kundalini yoga for almost twenty years. She is described as a trail blazing, next generation kundalini yoga teacher and trainer. She travels the world teaching Kundalini Yoga in places like Bali, Maui, Mexico and India. She practiced Iyengar Yoga, Vipassna Meditation, and many other modalities before finding Kundalini Yoga. She trained under the guidance of Yogi Bhajan in 2003.  Sat Siri’s teaching style is uplifting, challenging and healing at a deep level. She believes it is everyone’s birthright to experience the peace, grace, and blessings that awaken with a daily Kundalini Yoga and Meditation practice. Being a mother, she knows how essential this practice is as a tool for inner stability, healing, and peace. Training teachers has become one of the most inspiring and enriching aspects of her work. Sat Siri's mission is to remind people, especially women how powerful they are. She says: "I once forgot my own power, but now I am reconnected with my true strength, deep resilience, and I allow grace to support me along the way. My breakdown became my breakthrough. I want this experience of remembering your true nature for you too. Let’s do this together. Join me as we gather together." You can find her at: https://satsiriyoga.com
