Episode 92
I want to start out by saying how much I appreciate this podcast. It has been an extremely helpful resource during early my recovery from alcohol and I recommend it and Lionrock meetings to my patients all the time. However, I think the interviewee in this episode may have unintentionally said some misleading things. As a therapist at a medication assisted treatment center for individuals with opioid use disorders, I felt I should say that it is not inherently dangerous to withdraw from methadone. There is so much stigma against medication assisted treatment, so I felt obligated to say something because of the lives I see it save and change in a daily basis. I strongly encourage anyone who has not been able to achieve sobriety from opiates on their own to consider this as an option. Methadone is very safe and effective for many people.

Hilarious, insightful, relatable, generally entertaining, illuminating - all the things! Think Brene Brown + Invisibilia + a tiny bit of Chelsea Handler snark. If you're even curious, just try one whole episode. It's worth your while even without a history of addiction.Read full review »

Ashley and Christiana do a great job bringing heartfelt honest stories of recovery. It’s awesome for people in recovery, people thinking about recovery, people who have been affected by addiction, and people who are just curious and want to know more. Love it!
