“Richard, you’ve been on point for the travesty of omissions in this years coach hiring season. There is another travesty happening right under your nose that is a bad look for NBC and your charming partner.
Chris, you are the best in the business. I sincerely mean that. But how in Gods name does your 24 year old son Jac get air and camera time in the leagues highest profile pregame and postgame with his current resumè?! You’ve facilitated the supreme example of white privilege and nepotism, and I’m sure you see it.
I’ll give you the kid is reasonably likable and has some chops, but there is NO WAY you can tell me he’s the more qualified for this role than dozens twenty-something kids from under represented communities wanting a career at broadcasting. Stop lecturing owners about coaching injustices and instead help NBC do some self scouting. It should do the right thing and take the opportunity to connect with another demographic through some diversity. What an opportunity to find, hire and develop a hip, interesting African blooded young man (or woman!) who knows the sport and is able to provide a unique cultural perspective that complements the rest of that team. Think of the generation THAT would inspire.”
