“Unfortunately for the bros, my favorite episodes are when they’re critiquing a show for sloppy storytelling and bad writing.
I had frustrations over all the hate directed towards Mallory in the first season because I felt that it went past a line and criticized the actor who plays her for her looks, voice, and facial expressions. Because of that, I really appreciated having a guest with a different opinion on the 10th episode, in contrast to a lot of other reviewers who were on the really hating Mallory train!!
The Season 2 episodes so far have been full of really good critiques, particularly calling out the weird way this show ignores race, and the banana-pants leaps of logic required for the plot they’ve set up in episode 2. It brings me a lot of joy also to hear all the late 90s fact-checks and have them mention the anachronisms.
The bros don’t always get it perfect on the first try but it’s clear that they value expanding their perspectives and have learned and grown a lot over the years, which is something that’s very important to me.”
