The name Osceola is pronounced “Ah-see-oh-luh”. Osceola was a leader of the Seminole tribe. In the 1830s, Osceola led members of his tribe in an attempt to prevent the US Army from forcibly relocating tribes under Andrew Jackson’s Indian Removal Act, to a reservation west of the Mississippi River.”
