You give me Hope!
I love the daily signal podcast. It is one of my favorites. I turned 40 this year and as a member of Gen X I have been a bit worried about the millennial generation. I moved from being active in Young Republicans to getting married and having 5 babies in the last decade only to resurface now finding out that the generation behind me has jobs!! But the pair on this show is fantastic. Like other Heritage pods it is informative and straightforward. It starts off with a good even tone of voice that entices you to listen longer. My only criticism would be for the pair to listen to the podcast afterward and consider some constructive criticism from someone who specializes in public speaking. I like the spontaneous conversation that happens, but you can do a bit better to eliminate the “um’s” and “ah’s” that happen. Also, the young women need to think about their tone of voice. Millennial women tend to get a throaty sound to their voice often at the end of a sentence or phrase. It is noticeable and odd and has a tendency to sound sort of “valley girl” unintelligent. A good voice coach should be able to catch it and advise how to eliminate it. Podcasts are ALL about how it sounds. If it is grating on the ears, it won’t matter how informative you are, people won’t want to listen. Again, you are doing a fantastic job and keep up the good work!!

I’m a podcast addict but lately have trouble finding podcasts that are interesting and have a more old school journalism feel. This one has what I was looking for. I can only complain about the fact there’s not enough of it. More please! ;-)
