“Firstly, my warmest and sincerest thanks and admiration to Detective Iddles; people like me sleep better at night knowing people of principle on the police force still exist; and I am sorry that corruption and contempt for doing your job and doing it properly has left you so shattered because you shone a bright light on those who should know better. Please know your stellar career was not in vain; it’s stories like yours that always remind me of Rudyard Kipling’s poem “If”. You sir can answer yes to every question, however those who were in superior positions to you could never! To Mr. Roberts, I’m pleased you were found not guilty stemming from an unsafe conviction, but stop playing the victim: there are still victims of your armed robberies who still carry that trauma like the very shackles you’ve worn, live in solitary confinement every single day because of the trauma you caused. You may be innocent of killing two cops but you are guilty of killing the innocence of many who were left terrified and traumatised by you and your actions. I despise injustice, but I also despise those who cause untold harm to others—how’s about a decent apology to all the victims of YOUR crimes? Where’s your utmost respect and compassion for Detective Iddles? I don’t hear a man reformed, all I here is “I,I,I…me, me, me … how wrong I was done” I have two words to say to you Mr Roberts and every bent copper and the commissioner and it is not Bon Voyage!”
