down with terrible accents
I'm not sure how broadly applicable this podcast is for foreign language students. If you have a vocal music background and have done vocal performance in languages you don't speak well tho, the material will be very logical and straightforward. I have not tried to use this as a tool for tackling new languages for singing, just for improving my terrible French accent. Like a lot of adult language students, I read and listen to French at a much higher level than I can use in speaking. I also have a hard time figuring out how to spell words that I've heard in radio broadcasts, or say words that I've only read. The material covered so far is helping me to cross the gap. It won't substitute for a good voice teacher, time spent in a French speaking country or actual French classes… but every little bit of practice on good diction pays off.

I've just discovered this invaluable resource. Very detailed in the best possible way. I'll be returning here regularly as much for the information as for the very engaging host. I like the way Ellen shares her experiences of the singing world in general at the beginning of each episode - brava!
