Safe space to dork out
Jackie is really the best. Back when podcasts were just a twinkle in the eye of comedians and Adnan Syed was far from a household name, The Dork Forest was born. This podcast isn’t easy to make and Jackie works hard to provide this manna for us dorks, but the concept helps it along. She invites people to talk about what they love rather than shoehorning a topic into a theme. You think you know what TDF is before you listen but really, you don’t. Sure there are comic books and RPGs, larping and filking but there’s so much more. How about an episode about Coach purses, beekeeping, or the history negro league baseball? Knitting? Yes. Wrestling? Several times. Shopping at discount stores? It’s a gem! I admit I am biased. I had the fortune to be a guest on the podcast, but that just gives me further insight into how cool it is that Jackie works to make this great show happen. Listen to some episodes. You might learn something. That’s one of the reasons Jackie does it! She learns along with us. Then treat yourself to one of her standup shows and you’ll just appreciate her all the more. If you want you can even join our Facebook group and virtually meet some of the kindest and fun internet folk. The Dork Forest: It’s a safe space to dork out about whatever you love. Come hike it with us. We stop for picnics a lot.

I am a comedian and a complete dork (RPG, comics, punk rock, film and literature) so what is there not to love. I am becoming a real dork for Jackie.

Jackie is a dork. Don't believe it, track down the first episodes. Those things are ancient and sound like it. It has a great new format this new season. Hopefully Jackie will get on the ustream wagon sooner than later to accommodate a live chat.Read full review »

The Dork Forest is a place filled with people obsessed about all kinds of things, or dorkdoms. Listen and learn, and laugh! It gets pretty Dorky on The Dork Forest, in a good way.
