A must-listen if you are from the Midwest!
Having grown up in a middle-class suburb of Detroit, the stay-at-home moms in my neighborhood were always having Mary Kay parties, candle parties, etc. My peers back in Michigan have carried on this tradition with product-based companies like Rodan + Fields. Many of them hope to use the money they earn from these companies as as a second income. They’re day job just isn’t enough to get by. This podcast is already a great inside look into the economy of women and the dreams we are sold while we search for our worth.

Hooked! Amazing investigative journalism paired with on-the-edge-of-your-seat storytelling. Love the connections made with economic gaps and the patriarchy, and how that makes room for MLM schemes to take place. I’m really finding myself empathize with the women in these pyramid schemes.
