“The epidemic in human society of the MLM is far more extensive and pervasive than the attention it receives. It is shocking how easily individuals can get sucked in on a handshake into this “get rich quick” delusion, but it happens regardless. I have been a witness to friends and family getting sold a false bill of goods by these groups all under the guise of self-starter, can do attitudes that magically lead to becoming wealthy. No one ever thinks to ask, “where does all the money come from?”
I would love to hear an episode on college campuses being targeted as that was where I saw it the most during my time as a student. There was no shortage of young and impressionable college kids ready to believe that they could easily get paid to vacation through the MLM known as World Ventures. A group of them known as The R.A.T. Pack (Retired At Twenty) spun tales of free BMW’s, thousands of dollars a month in income, and luxurious vacations. All you had to do was sign up. It was like a high school pep rally that tried to incorporate a club vibe to sell you on their nonsense. They targeted college kids with this to prey on a young person’s fantasy of living like a celebrity and I saw many of my peers fall for it.
The only sad part about this podcast is that it didn’t come out sooner. Keep up the great work.”
