Population growth as the real elephant in the room
Often I find the podcasts focus too much on housing as an investment and less as a home or shelter. The episode with Paul Ryan was disappointing when it talks about affordability and density — again focus on economics vs sustainable development. Australia have very limited livable land and resources, unlike other countries such as USA or Europe— where it’s already humanized to the brink of total wildlife extinction and native forests destruction. We still have very limited but some areas left that we should conserve. It is what makes Australia amazing. Not just its cities and towns. Definitely not the humans. Much of what we will end up destroying is what we advertise and deem attractive locations. More holistic considerations when discussing property would be much needed. We have seen what property as a financial instrument have resulted in Asia and other mature cities. This is not what we want for Australia surely. Or it will fast lose its status of being the lucky country

Keep him off the air. He’s a self righteous goose. Lives in a fantasy land where he chooses to ignore inconvenient reality of government policy to support the Property industry
